Camping At National Forests

If you are interested in camping at National Forests, you should call the nationwide Forest Service campground reservation number at 1-877-444-6777 or 518-885-3639 from overseas. If you call to book a reservation using the toll free number, you'll need to provide the name of the campground and the name of the national forest where it is located. You can also visit the Forest Service campground reservations website at www.recreation.gov. The website offers interactive, clickable maps that list campgrounds by state and include directions and campground maps.

Stay At A Historic Lodge

If you’re planning a trip to a national park with a historic lodge, then consider booking a stay there. Sure, you won’t have the luxuries and all the other amenities that you might find outside the park, but the spectacular setting and the history of a national park lodge can help to make the trip an unforgettable experience. Among the many lodges to consider include the Crater Lake Lodge, the Many Glacier Hotel (Glacier NP), The Ahwahnee (Yosemite NP) and El Tovar (Grand Canyon NP). To help with your planning, consider getting a copy of Great Lodges of the National Parks: The Companion Book to the PBS Television Series.
