| Description |
| Designated as the state's first National Forest Scenic Byway in 1988, this route, known as "The Drive Through the Ages," runs through the Ashley National Forest east of the Uinta Mountains, one of the few east-west ranges in the country. The Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, created as a recreational destination, includes nearly half of the byway and offers opportunities for hiking, river rafting, swimming, canoeing, and camping. Byway is also located near Dinosaur National Monument and Quarry, one of the world's greatest sources for dinosaur skeletons. |

| From Vernal, byway runs north on US 191 to UT 44, where it forks: the left fork follows UT 44 to Manila, where the byway ends; the right fork continues on US 191 past the community of Dutch John to the Wyoming state line. |
